Jahilliyyah is not a period of time…it’s a state of mind…
I don’t think we can say “I’m not one of the Jahiliyyah” when we’re still adhere to “our group is the best” and “us versus them” mentalities..Asabiyyah is one of the thing that our Prophet Muhammad SAW came to stop in his Call..and when he started his Call..his people was at the peak of Asabiyyah…clans kill each other just because they think the other clan tarnished their honour…and just how many poems are created to praise the poets’ own clans…
It’s a virtue ofAkhlak not to whisper in front of others or talk in a language not comprehensible to other people in a majlis..it’s all just measures to prevent fitnah among the ummah..to me,the beauty of Islam is it’s forethoughts in preventing problems rather than treating them..and to protect minorities in the ummah…1 of the hikmah that many Muslims forget…we can not create a united ummah when there’s suspicion among us(which has been the main ploy among enemies of Islam)
I really believe that it’s not when we join a group of daei’s that we became daei ourselves..it starts from when we conciously choose Islam and say “There’s no God except Allah..and Muhammad is His messenger..” and born-Muslim sometimes forget these…the part where we have to choose our actions and the responsibility that came with it..
There can only be good acts and bad acts..may Allah forgive us when we unknowingly do something bad with good intentions…
